brand guide

It’s time to get real. With this brand guide I created for a startup that teaches us how to be better humans. Scroll below to make that joke work, please. It won’t be a funny joke, but at least you’ll see what I’m referring to. Working side-by-side (over the phone) with the business owner, I helped her brainstorm and flesh out her imagined illustrations into real life, and choose a color palette based on her descriptions and my designer’s intuition.

As the business strategy evolved, so did the visual identity and content needs, shown here is an early draft covering the initial asks and high level look and feel. Scroll even further, if you dare, to see a revised version with a brand new color palette, name and logo (that I also created).

Here’s a snippet of the updated version bringing the new strategy and visual direction together. And let’s not forget that new name and logo! The next stage would have been going to Detailland with specs and usage, and layouts for worksheets, webpages, and social media templates. That didn’t happen because startup, but my creative direction provided a foundation for the business owner to start from as needs continued to change, so she could edit the content herself, by utilizing the resources I built.
